I recently experienced a problem when self excluding at an online casino and this post is to warn others not to self exclude at casinos unless you have a genuine gambling problem.
Back in 2015, I signed up at Betspin casino. Unbeknown to me, they charge a fee when making deposits when using a debit card. I don’t believe in this practice so I self excluded myself from the casino for a period of one year. The self exclusion would mean that no promotional material or contact from the casino would be made for this period of time.
Fast forward almost a year later, and a new casino entered the market: Rizk Casino. Not knowing that this casino was under the same license as Betspin (and as I later found out Guts Casino), I registered, took the deposit bonus and played this out unsuccessfully in terms of getting financial gain from it.
Some weeks later, I wanted to make another deposit only to find out that my account was blocked and to contact their live chat. I did just that and it was then that I found out that because I self excluded at Betspin, all the accounts under the same license were blocked which included Rizk and also Guts.
In all fairness to both Rizk and Guts casino, they did refund me the deposits as they are required to do under the terms of their license.
As an online gambler, you don’t always know which casinos are trading under the same license and for that reason I recommend you don’t self exclude from any online casino unless the reason for the self exclusion is because of a gambling problem.
